AI will change the world of art as it is known today by revolutionizing the creative process, enabling new forms of expression, and challenging traditional notions of authorship and creativity.
This transformation is already underway as artists and technologists collaborate to harness AI's capabilities, resulting in AI-generated art, enhanced creative tools, and innovative approaches that are reshaping the art world in real-time.
To embrace and evaluate this transformative shift, we are launching a call for entries of AI-generated art pieces, inviting artists to showcase the evolving fusion of human creativity and artificial intelligence in the contemporary art landscape.
This competition is central to our mission as we warmly welcome AI's possibilities, striving to fathom the ways it can empower artists and foster novel creative partnerships. As history has shown, the arrival of new technologies often triggers concerns about disrupting the status quo. For instance, consider the initial skepticism that greeted the advent of radio broadcasting. Such innovative strides have consistently faced opposition. In this vein, we perceive AI to be no exception.
Works selected by the jurors Joan Alsina, Julio Hirsch-Hardy, and Dr. Martín Raskovsky in each category (photography, illustration, digital painting, and animation) will be showcased at the FotoNostrum Mediterranean House of Photography in 2024.
Please note that only works that include ‘human involvement’ are accepted, meaning that AI should be used as an enhancement of your own creation, and therefore being eligible for copyright protection.
In a rapidly evolving world of technological progress, AI has emerged in the collective consciousness as a symbol of a potentially grim and foreboding tomorrow. Nevertheless, it is valuable to contemplate the ways in which computers and machine learning can propel creativity and foster human bonds.
